“Sales as a service” isn’t really something everyone immediately seems to understand or register easily. Speaking to Jed Cipriano, President of Singapore-based Konsyg, you’d think it was something we’re all familiar with. You then realise he’s actually quite good at his job.

Based in the Philippines, Jed overseas the lead generation specialists of the Konsyg sales organisation, and handles global accounts. He’s a self-professed “process guy” and has built processes from scratch for different companies and delivered results. From generating thousands of leads for a huge deal site to website content moderation down to building highly successful customer success teams for one of the biggest peer-to-peer ridesharing companies today.

Find out what Konsyg CEO, William Gilchrist had to share with us about dominating the sales industry.

His involvement in Konsyg along with a team of talented industry veterans is trying to change how companies view sales in the region, especially Asian companies.

When you can’t find Jed in his office, he’s likely to be spending time with family and playing video games.

The Konsyg team
Team Konsyg
  1. Sell us your company/service in 300 words?

Our CEO and Founder William Gilchrist, ex-Google, has seen a lot of startups that struggle with building the right teams and processes in sales, ending up overspending with little to no results.

Konsyg is your own sales team – minus all the hassle of figuring out how to build an effective team delivering beyond expectations through concrete sales processes from start to finish.

When I said “minus all the hassle of figuring these out”, I really mean minus all the hassle. We take care of everything from generating highly qualified leads (not lists) and help you figure out your customer personae to customized communication (both in writing and on the phone), down to giving demos of your products and helping you close deals.

We use up-to-date sales technologies and combine them with natural human intelligence in curating high-quality leads.

Konsyg is composed of a fully-trained and experienced team, each having at least 10 years of sales experience. We are currently operating in multiple countries – Singapore (headquarters), Philippines, Thailand, and Chicago.

We are a hybrid of an outsourcing team and consultants. We are our clients’ own team. We help our clients in strategies to grow their business.

In fact, we have helped the majority of our clients today (from different industries such as SaaS, FinTech, Cyber Security, med-tech, and AI) in acquiring their Series A.

  1. What is stopping you from having the largest company in the world?

I don’t think we want to be the largest company in the world. But if we could, why not?

At Konsyg, we focus more on making all this worthwhile by providing stellar sales services on behalf of our clients. We’d like to be the most effective sales company in the world.

If you think about it, what would stop us from becoming the most effective company would be if we started wanting to be the largest.

We’d rather have a few hundred teammate with great processes and delivering beyond expectations rather than thousands but less effective results. We’d like to make sure we focus on a few huge clients and nail it than have a ton and spread ourselves too thin. We have scalable and repeatable processes that work but we will still want to have vision on each and every client – no matter how huge we become.

  1. If you could change one thing about the tech industry in Southeast Asia, what would it be?

Quality over quantity.

Embrace technology but focus on quality rather than quantity.

Technology automates a lot of things. In sales, a lot of entrepreneurs are attracted by huge quantities of lists that automation-powered lead generation companies are sending them for a low price.

However, the question I always ask them and leaves them stumped is “What’s your ROI?” Most of them, if not all, don’t even keep themselves on top of the responses though mass email blasts – if prospects respond to those spammy-looking emails at all.

Sure, at the end of it all sales is a numbers game. At Konsyg, quantity is important and we are a results-oriented team. But we focus more on strategic quality. We use technology to highly qualify leads and maximize our natural judgment of real human beings curating the deals. More importantly, in sending personalized outreach strategies that catch a prospects’ attention.

  1. Name one person in the region, who is making a difference in Technology?

I’ll be a little bit biased here. Tech in Asia recently dubbed Revolution Precrafted as “The first Filipino unicorn”. Living in a 3rd world country myself, I’ve always seen how challenging it is to keep up with the world’s technology. But these guys at Revolution, Filipinos, are making a huge difference – globally.

They develop prefabricated designer homes and would deliver anywhere in the world. They have just raised their Series B and got a valuation of more than US$1 billion… It’s crazy but super inspiring. It just proves that you can make a difference no matter where you come from.

  1. What would you want people to remember you for, 100 years from now?

That I was part of THE Konsyg from the beginning and that I had built teams that were genuinely happy in what they were doing, all successful in their careers, without having them feel required to work long hours to achieve great work results. Instead, they had lived their lives well with a great life and work balance.
