Such has been the remarkable growth in Michigan’s online gaming industry that it is now the second biggest in the United States. It is that latter figure which many people overlook, but it’s important, as collected taxes go toward things like infrastructure and education. As legalised online gambling is still a relatively new thing in Michigan, there is plenty of room for expansion, with room for further operators to enter the market, driving competition and employment opportunities in the region.

The big dive

Michigan took a bold dive into the waters of online gambling, and the benefits are clear to see in the numbers. This has been part of a bigger trend across the country, which has seen iGaming revenue soar. The US online casino revenue hit a record $905 million in March 2025, and it’s estimated that the level of generated revenue across the country will match that of Europe’s well-established output by the year 2028.
