Automation, time-saving, productivity, and whatever else is the buzzword for the week, pretty much makes up for about 40% of entrepreneur conversations. We’ve all been there at some point.

That’s why we wanted to find out what entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia use in order to make their business lives easier. With the multitude of tech tools out there, figuring which ones are best suited to your life might be tough or take way too much effort. This is where we come in.

We got Juntao Zhu, CEO and Co-Founder of Hodlnaut to share the tech tools that make his life better. Hodlnaut is a Singapore-based platform that allows cryptocurrency holders to earn returns on their crypto assets. Together with co-founder Simon Lee, they launched the company back in April 2019 (before COVID) and to date their AUM stands at US$ 500 million.

Juntao has a background in finance, having worked within the derivatives and fixed income industry at Credit Suisse. He brought the best practices learned from the finance industry in the crypto lending space.

Terng from SYNC shares the tech tools that make his life easier

Hodlnaut is a certified Fintech by the Singapore Fintech Association, an accreditation recognized by the MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore). The company has also recently launched its iOS application and the app supports this feature too.

Here are the 5 tools that Juntao uses and how he uses them in his words:

Collaborative design with Figma (free)

Figma has been our go-to tool for sharing designs across the organization. We use it as a web extension. It is simple to use and has made collaboration very easy. Most importantly, the tool helps in keeping the UI patterns consistent.
I really love how Figma allows my team and me to comment and collaborate within the platform itself to save us the hassle of leaving the tool and discussing any further changes.

And with our recently launched iOS Mobile App, Figma played an integral role in ensuring the designs for the mobile application were consistent. With its collaboration feature, we were able to make updates and changes within the platform itself, which is a great way to save on time and inefficiencies.

Be mistake-free with Grammarly (paid)

I use Grammarly Pro to proofread the content created by various teams to catch the grammatical errors and ensure consistency in style and tone across the organization. It has significantly improved the accuracy of our content.
Grammarly is also extremely user-friendly and has made writing emails, long-form texts, and proposals a whole lot easier and more efficient.

Now, I don’t have to constantly double and triple-check any grammatical errors within my text since Grammarly does it instantly for me. It is a true lifesaver!

Manage your workflow with ClickUp (paid)

ClickUp has been instrumental in organizing the workflow at Hodlnaut. I use it as a web application, and it allows me to view different projects, the tasks within and see their real-time progress.

My team members often include links to their work within the ClickUp platform, which makes it easy for me to check and vet. Since I am constantly swamped with various projects to oversee, the app is a great way for me to stay organized and up to date with all the necessary and relevant tasks.

ClickUp also comes with a mobile app, which makes checking tasks a breeze especially when I’m out of the office.

Collaborate with Miro (free)

I use Miro online software for cross-functional team collaboration. The platform is intuitive and easy to use. The voting and timing feature is handy while working on live documents with team members.

Think of it as a digital whiteboard – it is a useful tool for my team and me to jot down ideas, plan campaigns and other key launches, indicate deadlines, and essentially, collaborate on our workflow.

The best part about the tool is that it can even be converted into a PDF or presentation. Plus, we are also able to upload files, images, and documents from our very own server, Google Drive.

Keep your passwords secure with LastPass (paid)

As a fintech startup, we rely on many external platforms that help us grow our business. With so many different sites and team members using them, it is critical for us to keep our passwords safe and secured. This is where LastPass comes in.

It’s an extremely useful platform to store passwords and disseminate them to other team members in a safe manner. With Lastpass, we can generate some of the most difficult password combinations and we won’t even need to remember them since everything is saved on the platform.

And with the team expanding, it is a great way for us to ensure the passwords are shared with the right person to prevent any internal hiccups.
